The Dulmen ponies live semi-wild on Westfalia's Meerfelder Brusch where they have been found since the early 1300's. They once roamed in large herds across Westphalia until the 19th century when the division of the land meant that the ponies began to lose their natural habitat. There is only one wild herd left today, that roams 860 acres of the Meerfelder Brusch, owned by the Duke of Croy.
